Happy Birthday Pirate!

Davey's friend Cole had celebrated his 4th birthday "Pirate Style"! So... Davey being the "original 3-year old Capt. Jack Sparrow," went in costume. There were about 15 toddlers running here and there, and the girls had the definite advantage outnumbering the boys. Davey played well with the other kids and introduced himself as "the pirate" to many of the parents. Happy Birthday Cole!

TEE BALL IS HERE!!!!!!!

I think I am more excited than Davey is! Tee-ball practice started yesterday and we had a blast! Davey has his friend Cole on his team and I personally think they were the two that had it together! It was great to see all the parents interacting and helping to teach the kids. We have a couple of super fast kids and a couple of hard hitters. When the games start in April, in the 3-5 year old range, they do not keep score or have winners or losers, but we'll know who's team is the best!!! Batter up!

The Gorilla Encounter

Just another fun day at the zoo... so we thought. It was a beautiful day and we needed to catch a nature walk. The zoo was bustling with activity because many others had the same idea, and we spent more time watching the animals and interacting with them. So we make our way to the Gorilla habitat and there was a flurry of activity. The Mommy Gorillas were out with their babies (Atlanta has 3 new baby gorillas- www.zooatlanta.com ) and we were watching the playtime activities. Well, Davey was right up against the glass barrier watching, and a baby-less Girl gorilla came closer and closer to the glass. Next thing we knew, she was face to face with Davey and he was a little nervous. The Gorilla touched the glass and was attempting to take Davey's Bunny from him. I think she was lonely and needed a baby! Davey was excited but was ready to leave when the Gorilla was up close and personal. We waved goodbye and he talked about it the rest of the day. He told me, "the gorilla was bery big and he could not have his bunny!" Maybe another reason to leave bunny in the car next time! So we took a picture to commemorate our Gorilla encounter.

You make me smile!

Davey's Favorite

At 3 years old, the best activity is the park! The jumping, running, climbing, (falling), and social interaction with other tots is key to a fun day. We are fortunate to live near 2 parks. Davey's favorite park has 2 sets of activity sets and he has mastered both of them. And of course, there are "the girls!" Not that Davey pays any attention to them, but they are suddenly on him, holding his hand, going down the slide together, playing "chase". In fact, I had more of a workout watching for the little girls in short skirts! Fortunately Davey did not notice the scowls I was giving to their Mothers. Just another day at the park!

We love Atlanta!

I have mentioned before that Atlanta is a great city because there is always some fun activity to go see. Davey and I ventured to an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game last weekend and had a ball. Davey enjoys the Marta train and this year seemed extra interested in the actual game. We had decent seats and could see the players skate feverishly across the ice. The fun of the crowd and the music (similar to a baseball game) was so exciting for Davey. Of course, he enjoyed the game until the ice cleaning machine came out onto the ice- then it was all about the monster tractor! Wonder how you get to ride on one of those? Maybe next year!
