Davey's First Bike Ride

I entered a raffle at the tradeshow in Dallas, and won a mountain bike. Mind you, I haven't been on a bike in years. When I brought it home, Davey's excitement began. Well, this weekend was the time to put it together. Once it was intact, Davey was obsessed with when we would ride it. I researched different toddler devices and opted for the one that attaches directly to the bike. After the lengthy installation and triple checking every bolt and screw- he crawled up the bike and got strapped in. His Sesame Street helmet had to be the cutest part. We balanced well and b/c it was so late in the day- we rode around the neighborhood. He didn't stop smiling and talking. He would say, "Mommy wach out!" Already a little back seat driver! I expect this to be a very enjoyable activity for us both!

Fun time at the lake!

A family that comes into the Nut invited Davey & I to their lakehouse this weekend. We had a great time and Davey had some bonding with Stacey & Oliver Cooper. They are super generous and complimented Davey several times on his good behavior. He seemed to really enjoy getting away and the boats were his favorite. He had been on a pontoon boat- but not a speed boat. Couldn't tell if he liked it or not, but he wouldn't go out on the sea-doo with me- not the dare devil quite yet. He played with their dog, Buzz, and formed a like him/scared of him relationship thru the weekend. When we were leaving he started to cry and I asked him what was wrong. He said, "I miss buzz." I told him we would see him again. We were pirates seaching for a treasure on the lake, and found the best treasure, friendship, with the Coopers. (pictures to follow)

Davey & I spent the day together. I can't remember when I laughed and smiled more in one day. He is past full sentences and on to stories. When he runs out of things to say the "make-up" words start flowing. He has also uses his hands and turns them over and over above his head. (I'll try and get a picture of this)
We went swimming at Six Flags early and then came home and spent time playing our favorite things including flash cards, puzzles, reading books, and of course playing trains. (He now lets me touch the trains, b/c I come up with fun stories, like Sir Topum Hat goes to the hospital, the bridge colapses, Gordon has a wreck)
